Blake Lively apologized for the remarks she made about Kate Middleton as the future Queen reveals that she was diagnosed with cancer.
The Gossip Girl alum recently shared an Instagram photo promoting her sparking mixer company, Betty Buzz, but she seemed to make fun at the controversy around the Princess of Wales’ edited photo.
“I’m so excited to share this new photo I just took today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @bettybooze products! Now you know why I’ve been MIA,” she wrote.
But after Kate finally opened up about her condition, Lively took to Instagram stories and wrote an apologetic note.
“I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” she expressed.
“I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I’m sorry.”
Lively concluded: “Sending love and well wishes to all, always.”
But many fans were quick to tell the actress that she should be ‘ashamed of herself’ for ‘mocking’ the Princess for wanting privacy.
Kate shared the shocking news of her cancer diagnosis in a personal video message shared by Kensington Palace.
She revealed that following her planned abdominal surgery, she received the news that tests after the procedure ‘found cancer.’
The type of cancer the Princess has was not revealed but a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said that they won’t share any further private medical information.
