A woman has shared how she hates herself for being jealous of her best friend who has a ‘perfect husband’ as she claimed that her partner doesn’t do anything for her.
Posting on Reddit, the woman described her friend as ‘the kindest, gentlest, purest in this world and I love her, but I’m so jealous of her and hate myself for it.’
After they got pregnant at the same time, her best friend via a surrogate, she realized that her friend was living a perfect life and that the differences between their lives were making it difficult for her to be genuinely happy for her friend.
“I gained weight and can’t lose it. She got a nurse to take care of the baby at night so they could sleep well, while I haven’t slept since the baby was born,” she wrote.
The woman also explained that her best friend has cleaners who deep clean their home three times a week while she could only deep clean once a month.
“She cooks and bakes these wonders while I have to do with cheese sandwiches because I don’t have the time to cook,” she expressed.
The frustrated woman also said that the main difference between them is their husbands.
The woman continued: “They had the dream wedding, while ours was in a courthouse. They had a three-month honeymoon, we had none. They basically live in a mansion while we live in a two-bedroom apartment. Her husband is organized and considerate (the perfect gentleman) while mine… isn’t.”
Reddit users were quick to offer advice, with one person saying: “Go to couples counselling and work on your marriage if that’s what you want. Stop comparing. It’s the thief of joy.”
Another wrote: “You’d be surprised at what she may be jealous of you for – like perhaps carrying your own child, which she sadly didn’t get to experience?! The grass isn’t always greener on the other side – it’s greener where you water it.”
