An author’s book has become a best-seller overnight after a heartbreaking video of his empty book signing went viral on social media.
Shawn Warner was sitting alone in a store while trying to promote his book ‘Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor’ when a TikToker noticed him.
In the viral clip posted by Red, the TikToker can be seen asking Warner about his work.
Warner looked ‘defeated’ during his empty book signing, leaving viewers heartbroken.
The TikTok video has been viewed more than 17 million times, giving the author and his book a lot of recognition.
“I was just shopping when I noticed this man trying to promote his new book,” Red captioned his post. “I honestly don’t even read books nowadays. But something just told me to get a couple.”
Viewers flooded the comments section and said that they were going to buy a copy.
One person commented: “I met the same gentleman at my thriftbook store a few weeks back. bought one and he signed it for me. super sweet guy, just seemed so sad.”
Another said: “Awe I’m gonna have to get this book. That’s so awesome that you took the time to promote him!”
Thanks to the power of social media, Warner’s book has become the number one best seller on Amazon.
Warner has now created his own TikTok account to thank everyone for the ‘love’ since his video went viral.
“I have no words aside from Thank You (for) supporting Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor!” he captioned his post.
While he is still in shock, he seems happier in his TikTok video.
