The Aquaman star, 36, was ordered to pay the Pirates of the Caribbean actor $8.35 million in damages but her attorneys insist that she cannot afford it.

Heard flew from Virginia to New York on a private jet. She was joined by her assistant and also her sister Whitney for the trip before she came back to Washington DC.

Heard sported a green button-down shirt, black trousers, and high heels as she made a quick visit to the Big Apple. It is not clear what the purpose of her trip to New York was.

She carried a handbag and a bright orange bottle as she came out of the private jet alongside Whitney, who was by the actress’ side during the trial.

The actress has remained under the spotlight since she appeared in court to hear the jury’s verdict in her defamation trial against Depp.

The ruling saw Heard winning only one of her three countersuits while Depp won all three of his claims against her.

Heard was ordered to pay Depp $5 million in punitive damages and $10 million in compensatory damages but the payment for punitive damages was reduced to $350,000 per Virginia law.

This week, two of Depp’s attorneys, Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez, said that the actor may have waive Heard’s payment after her lawyers insisted that his ex-wife cannot afford it.

Heard’s legal team confirmed that she would be appealing the verdict.

On Wednesday, Depp’s lawyers spoke out about the case, with Vasquez slamming rumors of a budding romance between her and her client.

“’I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job… It’s disappointing that certain outlets said that my interactions with Johnny – who is a friend I’ve known and represented for four-and-a-half years now – in any way were inappropriate or unprofessional,” she said.

“That’s disappointing to hear.”
