An optical illusion featuring two blocks has gone viral after people couldn’t believe that the two elements are actually the same color.
To see what we’re talking about, look at the photo below. At first glance, the two blocks clearly appear to be colored differently, whereas the one on top looks darker than the one on the bottom.
If you’re already convinced that’s the case, we’re sorry to disappoint you by telling you the two elements are the same color.
In case you don’t believe us, you can simply do a test of your own by placing your finger horizontally across the middle of the photo where the two blocks meet each other.

The optical illusion went viral after it was shared on Instagram by Good Morning Britain show host Kate Garraway.
As some internet users were quick to suggest, they were left baffled by the optical illusion that tricked their brains into believing the two blocks are of a different color.
“That’s mad! You’d swear they were totally different colors,” someone wrote. “This is unbelievable,” another one added.
One person said: “Wow! I can’t stop doing it”
