World’s oldest man claimed the record and after soon enough, he died.
It was as if he was only living to claim the record that he did.
Chitetsu Watanabe, the resident of Niigata in Japan was officially announced to have claimed the record of being the oldest man alive on February 12 by Guinness Book of World Records with his age is 112 years and 344 days old.
He was going to turn 113 soon enough but died just 11 days before his birthday on Sunday.
Chitetsu celebrated his claiming the record but soon after his celebration he was unable to eat any food, had developed fever, and suffered from the shortening of breath as it all happened on the 21st of February.
He received his certificates from the nursing home and ever since he was in very high spirits. The daughter in law of Chitetsu, Tetsuo said that he has been living a completely stress-free life for as long as she can remember.
She says that in the past 60 years, she has not seemed him screaming even once.
She said “He is caring and humble and always has a smile on his face. He has lived a very long part of his life with a massive family of kids, grandkids and a lot of family members around all the time in a large house and this was something that always kept him happy.”
He had built a huge home for his entire family to live in it together along with him. He also had a huge yard where he used to grow vegetables and fruits until he was 104. After that, it became quite difficult for him to keep moving around all the time.
