World War 2 ended more than 6 decades ago and we still find its traces around.
The brave soldiers that fought for their nations back then are only present in a tiny number of 500 around the world.
Yes, there are only 500 living solders in the world from WW2 and one of them, who is the oldest WW2 veteran in America just celebrated his 110th birthday in a massive birthday bash.
Lawrence Brooks, who was born in 1909, served the country at the time of WW2 from 1940 to 1945.
The man who lives in New Orleans, Louisiana is said to be the second oldest veteran of WW2 in the world.
The veteran’s birthday was celebrated in big birthday bash by Louisiana’s National WWII Museum this Thursday.
On asking how he feels, the veteran said that it makes him very happy.
Considering that he is a veteran of WW2 the museum became the best location to celebrate his birthday. Well, the museum has been celebrating the veteran’s birthday since he turned 105 in 2014.
The vice president of the museum vice president Peter Crean said “it is a proud feeling that we get to celebrate his birthday. This museum is all about his life and the life of thousands of men and women like him who lived in the time we did now.”
He added “We have celebrated his birthday since 2014 and we will keep celebrating his birthday till he keeps having one. It is the pride of the museum. We love Mr. Brooks.”
Brooks served in the war from 1940 to 1945 even though he was released from his duty a month before the war broke out. He was then called back to serve for the war.
There are only 500 WW2 veterans left in the world now and Mr. Brooks has attained the position of the second oldest veteran in the world.
