Nurses Advised Not To Wear Their Uniform In Public After Being Abused And Egged Amid Coronavirus Crisis In Australia


Brave nurses who have been risking their lives every day to assist the doctors and coronavirus patients are being asked not to step out in their uniform from their work as they are being abused in streets due to fears in the public.

Hospitals have been asking their staff to undertake this unsettling precaution because nurses reported being abused and egged on the streets. People are accusing them of spreading the coronavirus disease.

Hospital staff is being attacked verbally as well as pelted with eggs on public transport and in the supermarkets.

This is happening in several places in Australia and hospitals at Queensland have taken these measures to protect their staff from the public.

Staff at Queensland Children’s, Princess Alexandra, Logan, Gold Coast, Prince Charles, and other hospitals have reported to such incidents.

The health minister of Queensland, Steven Miles, called this treatment abhorrent and added said that if one sees someone in the Queensland Health uniform, they should know that these people are the real heroes.

He further added that these people should be able to wear their uniforms with pride and not fear that they will be singled out for abuse.

This comes after a whistleblower in NSW said that healthcare staff members were being spat on.

They revealed that cleaners and nurses were being spat on and abused if they were seen anywhere in public in their uniforms.

The common statement is that these nurses are spreading coronavirus.

However, it was noted that most staff do not even work in coronavirus clinics. One exhausted nurse said that the staff was being treated like lepers, which was soul-destroying.

They added that they had been asked not to wear their uniforms in public anymore after 3 instances of nurses getting egged came forward.
