A Filipino nurse shared a picture of the abusive letter she and her family received in their mail blaming the family for the coronavirus crisis in Australia.
Cat Dolendo, her family and her husband were asked to f*ck off to the country the family came from. She found the letter in the mailbox kept at the house of her in-laws.
Cat’s family considers themselves Australian and they have lived at Port Macquarie, New South Wales northern coast from 20 years now and call the place their home. Coronavirus’ original source has been believed to be China’s Wuhan’s wet market.
The letter also read that the family should take their f***ing disease with them and called them un-Australian c***ts.
Cat, who is the mother of two girls, was horrified at the contents of the letter. She further added that they had been dealing with constant abuse for a long time now and revealed that the family was unaware of what should be done.
The mother has been in touch with the local police and claims that she has the footage that proves who exactly has put the hateful letter in the family’s mailbox.
When the abusive letter was shared online, within minutes, hundreds of Australians jumped to the family’s defense and assured that what the family’s neighbors think about them does not reflect the society’s opinion.
One person wrote that such an incident made them physically sick. Another one added that being a racist was un-Australian and called the incident mind-blowingly xenophobic.
They even apologized on behalf of all the Australians.
Since the first diagnosis of coronavirus in Australia, similar cases have taken place where different minorities were verbally abused.
Four days before this incident, a woman told Telstra employees to return to China in between a bizarre store rant.
