Chanice told her two-year-old daughter ‘mummy’s going away for a little while as Mummy’s got work.’

The mother told her daughter is just two-year-old and she doesn’t understand all this so she didn’t react.

Chanice said: “And she said, ”Mummy, I come”. I said ”no baby, you can’t. I said I’m going to Nanny’s house and Nanny’s going to stay here with you.”

Chanice decided to stay away from her family for 12 weeks and it was just the first day. She described it as ‘hard’ but she was forced to say goodbye to her family to protect them from coronavirus.

When the mother started to cry while telling her daughter she’s moving away from them, the daughter grabbed her sleeve and wiped her tears away.

The daughter asked: ”Mummy, why are you sad. Don’t cry Mummy.”

The mother said: “I didn’t know how to answer it, so I just replied with ”Mummy is sad”.

Chanice said: “I’ve had to leave my daughter for three months because I don’t want to put her in that vulnerable situation. She has no idea what’s going on. No idea at all.”
