A thrilled nurse who previously shared a heartbreaking diary of her fight against coronavirus is set to return home to het two children.
“I have fought it,” 35-year-old Kelly Ward wrote online. “I am beating it and I am going to be going home to Ryan and our children HOPEFULLY in the next couple of days!!”
Kelly said she developed a cough after a weekend shift in April. She was then rushed to hospital having difficulty breathing.
“I no longer need oxygen at rest, only when moving about but I am up and out of bed, have been for a walk with the physiotherapist and I am on the mend.
“It will take a little while to be fully back to normal, I still feel tired and weak but it is all good positive news.
“I’m one of the lucky ones and I truly have such heartbreak for those who have not been as fortunate as myself.”
The mother-of-two also paid tribute to the staff at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
“I am so SO proud to be part of the NHS, but my story shows that this virus doesn’t discriminate. It really can strike anyone at anytime, so PLEASE, STAY HOME, and STAY SAFE.”
One internet user commented: “..and when you get back Kelly, give them one almighty hug and shower them with kisses. Thank you for all your hard work and sacrifice sweetheart…”
Another wrote: “I’m pleased for her. Thank you for the much appreciated work, and eternally humbled at what you nearly lost on our behalf. Have a sweet and blessed life.”
A third added: “Good, I wish you all the best, bless!!”
