How would a child live if it has no family? The childhood of such kids become dreadful.
They have to live a life no one would want to. From one foster home to another, they keep on living life in the terms.
They only find a permanent home if they are lucky enough. Well, this little girl who was born at just 29 weeks lost all her family because the court took the rights of being parents from her birth parents and so she spent her time in the care of hospital where she had no visitors for 5 long months except for this one.
Little Gisel was born at just 29 weeks back in 2016. Her birth mother was a drug addict and due to the same, the baby girl developed neonatal abstinence syndrome. Because of the condition, the poor baby girl was not able to eat or drink anything at all so she had to be fed with tubes.
Her birth parents paid visits in the starting. First they were coming every day, then started coming once a week and eventually, they stopped coming at all. But all this while there was one person who was by her side.
Liz Smith was a 45 years old nurse working in the hospital who went to see Gisel daily and fell in love with her. When she was in the care for about 9 months Liz decided to take her under her care. She became her foster mother and took her home.
Soon the news came that her birth parents have lost their right to be parents according to the court’s decision. She was happy but was sad at the same time too.
She had decided to adopt Gisel legally because she was so much in love with her that she just could not let her go. Liz was sad because although she was gaining more of her, her parents and her mother who was already struggling with drugs was losing her daughter.
