Number Of INFECTED Texas Lawmakers Who Fled The State ‘Maskless’ Rises To 5


Two more Texas House lawmakers who fled their home state to block a GOP-based voting bill have now tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

A group of Democrats who made their way to Washington DC last week gained fame with plenty of images on Twitter explaining their motive of traveling to the state capital aboard a private plane. All of the individuals aboard the Washington DC bound flight were maskless and were reportedly vaccinated.

However, that did not prove to offer them any form of protection as five members have now tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, as confirmed by state media reports.

Yesterday, news broke out about three lawmakers testing positive, causing uproar amongst other members of the house who were immediately required to take their tests.

Now, the number of infected lawmakers has increased to five with fears of it rising in an upward direction further.

The group left from the Texan city of Austin towards the state capital with a motive to break the House’s quorum, while blocking all of the Republicans from passing out a new voting law with restrictive measures.

Now, the caucus claims that two more members have become infected and are being observed under isolation in their respective hotel rooms. Moreover, they also went about confirming how the members feel good with little to no symptoms.

While the public statement failed to identify the exact names of the members who had become infected, a Texas state representative who goes by the name of Trey Fischer did claim on Sunday evening his positive status.

He went on to add how his illness would not halt his work or agenda as he would be working with his colleagues and allies via telecommunication. “We’re planning more good trouble and will soon be making some major announcements,” he explained in his statement.
