A man changed his name to Nobody a few months ago and decided to run for office in a town in the United States.

Nobody revealed that he legally changed his name because he wanted to become the Mayor of Keene, New Hampshire.

The computer programmer-turned-political activist said he wants to reduce the amount of government interference in the lives of people.

“I made it [the name change] because I intended to run for office and there’s a lot of jobs in government that Nobody should do,” he said.

“What I’d like to do in any political position is as little as possible and by that I mean shrink the government down as much as I can.”

Nobody was standing against two city councilors who received the most the most votes in the preliminary election. He was up against Democrat Mitch Greenwald and Republican George Hansel.

Even though he lost by over 1,000 votes to his opponents, Nobody said he has another plan to fall back on the right track.

“I think if I don’t get mayor, I’m going to run for governor tomorrow,” he said.

The election for the position of Mayor was not the first time Nobody has been involved in politics. In fact, he has been arrested by cops 11 times during protests.

“There was one arrest which was by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, and believe it or not they came to arrest me for a pound of weed,” he shared.

Before the vote, Nobody thought he also stood a fair chance of making a good impression.

The Michigan Native said to the Bostom Globe: “I am getting a lot of good response. The last time that I went to the liquor store there is this guy in there and he says ‘you are running for mayor’ and I am like ‘yeah I am.’ I was like ‘groovy’.”
