Nike Donates Cushioned Sneakers To Healthcare Workers Around The World Amid Pandemic


Nike wants to thank healthcare workers around the world by donating footwear, equipment, and apparel amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the help of professional athletes including Amandine Henry, Cristina Chirichella, Casey Short, and Joshua Buatsi, the apparel company announced that it partnered with nonprofit Good360 in distributing 30,000 pairs of Nike Air Zoom Pulse sneakers to healthcare workers in major cities across the United States.

The company said in a statement: “An additional 2,500 pairs are being donated to hospitals across Europe, including Barcelona, Berlin, London, Milan, Paris and in Belgium.”

The Air Zoom Pulse was designed specifically for healthcare workers. It can withstand hospital conditions and its laceless feature makes it easy to slip on and off.

In a November release, the brand said: “One can think of the Air Zoom Pulse as almost a traditional clog made athletic — all the arch and posture support of that industry favorite is augmented in the Pulse, with a smooth capacity for natural motion.”

Aside from that, “approximately 95,000 pairs of soccer socks offering mild compression will also be delivered through Good360 for healthcare workers in Los Angeles and New York City.”

“Across Europe, Nike has donated nearly 4,000 pairs of shoes and more than 3,500 pieces of sweat-wicking Dri-FIT apparel to more than a dozen hospitals and shelters,” the statement added.

US professional soccer player, Short, said in a Nike video: “Thank you from the bottom my heart for all that you’re doing, all that you’ve sacrificed. We are with you.”

Nike had previously delivered 1,100 Nike Sportswear kit (including water bottle, headband or heat, socks and a drawstring bag) to healthcare workers in the Big Apple.
