It is a tough time for Nick Cordero.
The Broadway star underwent a surgery and got his leg amputated following the high-risk complications associated with coronavirus. His wife Amanda Kloots announced the news on her Instagram.
41 years old Nick was in the Intensive Care Unit for 18 days suffering from novel coronavirus. Following the same, the doctors were finding it very difficult to cure the clotting of blood.
They had kept him on blood thinners which apparently was still clotting blood in his right leg and caused blood pressure problems.
When the thinners were stopped, there was a major amount of clotting in his right leg and because of the same he even suffered from bleeding in his intestine.
His wife said that it was becoming a risk to his immunity and thus to his life. To save his life, doctors had to perform surgery on him and amputated his right leg.
A few hours later she posted another update saying she just received a call from the hospital informing her Nick has made it through the surgery.
His leg was amputated and he was then taken to his room for recovery and rest.
She said that it is great news for her that he made it out alive. She also said that his body was weak and suffering; thus, it is great that he could make it out alive.
The surgery was performed on Saturday. A few days later on Thursday, she posted yet another update where she said she is not sure if Nick will be able to walk again because of the blood flow problem in his body.
Nick had to undergo the surgery urgently after the infection was detected in his body. He had lost consciousness and he had even lost his pulse. It became scary and therefore the doctors had to take him for the emergency surgery.
