The note that was pushed through her door read: ‘You are a disgrace and you have been reported! Stay at Home Saves Lives’.

Bex initially thought it was a note praising and thanking her as other nurses have got gifts and messages appreciating them from people.

But, when she opened the note, she was left stunned after reading the note.

Bex said: “When I opened the note my heart just pounded in my throat. I just couldn’t believe how awful it was.”

Bex, who is forced to leave her children at her brother’s house as she works a 12-hour shift, said she is already going through a difficult time and to find a note in a time like this was awful.

She said: “Most neighbors know I am a single mum who has to drop my children off at my brother’s house to look after them.”

Bex’s mother, Deb Leighton, shared the nasty note on social media and branded the person who wrote the note ‘vile and malicious’.

She said her daughter is a frontline nurse at Peterborough hospital and she returned from work from the first of three-night shifts when she found the note.

Deb said her daughter is really upset after finding the note and probably won’t sleep before going back to work.

She said: “I hope you don’t need her or her hardworking colleagues’ services during this crisis. A little fact-checking would have gone a long way instead of hiding behind an anonymous note through her door.”

“I hope you’re proud of yourself.”

She urged everyone not to judge anyone before knowing the full facts first.

After the post went viral online, Bex received overwhelming support and she thanked everyone for their support.

She said people’s support and encouragement has made her feel better.
