Newt Gingrich has lashed out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as he branded her “the most destructive speaker in history” in an interview with Fox News.
As the former Republican House speaker, who served from 1995 to 1999, insisted during his chat with Laura Ingraham, he believes that Pelosi “keeps violating the Constitution.”
“You said Nancy Pelosi is the most destructive speaker ever. Really quickly, why?” the Fox News TV host initially asked the former speaker.
“First off, she keeps violating the Constitution. The latest impeachment is just a simple example,” Gingrich responded.
“She uses her power ruthlessly and she has really pushed through the most radical positions ever taken by an American Speaker, including abolishing mother and father and uncle and aunt and son and daughter as words, literally trying to strip out any gender reference from the House of Representatives.”
In another Fox News interview, the 50th Speaker of the United States House went on to call Pelosi “dangerous” as he suggested she is surrounded by “left-wing looney tunes.”
Gingrich also took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris as he attempted to draw comparisons between the House Speaker and the current VP.
“They come from the center of left-wing nuttiness, and all their friends at the local country club or all their friends when they go to a cocktail party, think this craziness makes sense,” he said.
Among other bold accusations, the former House speaker insisted that Pelosi is willing to break the rules to suit her agenda.
“Pelosi has been in politics so long that she operates like a genuine machine politician of the old order. And she doesn’t mind abusing power. She doesn’t mind running over people,” Gingrich added.
