Parenting for the first time brings with it plenty of woes and worries and this next story is proof of just that.
Think along the lines of leaving your baby with its grandparents, only to find out that they’ve done something that manages to tick you off.
The woman who chose to remain anonymous on an online platform says she was baffled beyond any words can describe. The fact that her mother-in-law found it alright to just come forward and pour ibuprofen in a spoon and give it to her baby, without her permission has this woman fuming.
The child was teething and that meant he was extra cranky and just would not stop crying. The mother-in-law happened to be on babysitting duty and this is what she did, leaving her baffled and upset.
“As the mother, I demand that I be told about each and every single thing that takes place with my child. I am mortified to see this behavior take place. I deserve to know and now, I need her to apologize because it’s not alright”- the mother continued to rant on the platform.
She feels that a sorry is the least she deserves. And now, the news has left some people in a state of awe and bewilderment.
But it’s just so ironic how nobody sees anything wrong with the behavior, other than her. They’re blasting her for being ungrateful because taking care of a baby is not easy at an older age and they’re doing her a favor while she’s away.
Readers on the online platform of Mumsnet spoke about how this was not aright. They failed to see why she was ranting and being overly dramatic over something that did not deserve a reaction of this sort. What do you think?
Would she rather her baby be in pain? If her baby had been given ibuprofen for pain, the mother should have told them and let them know when she could have another dose if she needed it. As a grandparent, I expect my kids to trust me to not endanger my beloved grandchildren. Grandparents raised one of the parents successfully so should be trusted to not harm my grandchild. Young adults need to accept that their parents are smart enough to take care of a baby unless the grandparents have shown they aren’t, in which case they have no business leaving their children with them.
Since the baby was teething MAYBE mom should have told grandma what to give her!!
Find another free baby sitter if you can, i look after 3 of my grandchildren while 2 of my daughters work, and if they need meds then i dont have to go through my girls as they are in my care, i just keep a record on what they have had and time
Would she have given the same reaction if it had been her own mum. We have our grandsons quite a lot and am very happy that our daughter trusts us enough to deal with any problem we might have. Obviously keeping her upto date.
I have my grandchildren but I would never give tem any medication without checking with them first. A baby is even worse, could have been allergic to medicine.
