Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia may have already started World War III.
Speaking to NBC News, he said: “Nobody knows whether it may have already started. And what is the possibility of this war if Ukraine will fall, in case Ukraine will? It’s very hard to say.
“And we’ve seen this 80 years ago, when the second world war had started … nobody would be able to predict when the full-scale war would start.”
This comes after Zelensky spoke to lawmakers in Congress where he asked for more help for his country.
He said that he’d be glad to invite US President Joe Biden to Ukraine, noting that he has “extended him invitations on occasions.”
In his speech on Wednesday, he said that Ukraine is going through its own version of Pearl Harbor and September 11th every day since Russia started the invasion.
Zelensky also confronted Biden, telling him to become the ‘leader of the free world’ as he demanded more sanctions for Russia.
“I am addressing the President Biden. You are the leader of the nation, of your great nation. I wish you be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace,” Zelensky told Congress.
Biden also gave his own speech and pointed out an $800 million military assistance package.
He also called Russian President Vladimir Putin a ‘war criminal.’
“I think he is a war criminal,” Biden told reporters at the White House.
The Ukraine president repeated the plea he made to many countries around the world, saying: “I am almost 45 years old. Today when the hearts of more than 100 children stopped beating, I see no sense in life.
“I am addressing the President Biden. You are the leader of the nation, of your great nation. I wish you be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace.”
