You may have come across a woman identifying herself as plenty of other people but have you ever come across someone who identifies as a wolf?
Meet 27-year-old Naia Okami who likes to identify herself as otherkin therian and that means spiritually and psychologically, she’s a wolf.
While the young transgender female says she does not believe she’s a wolf physically, she prefers to avoid howling and barking when she’s in public or during her serious work hours at the office.
“I like to identify myself as a British Columbian wolf,” she went on to mention in detail.
But at the same time, Naia also sheds light upon how so many people have so many misconceptions about her and how she believes she’s an animal spiritually.
Naia who hails from Seattle says that the otherkin therian is a unique type of subculture that likes to believe how her soul is similar to an animal, instead of a human being.
In the year 2017, Naia says she came out as one transgender individual on her social media but in the year 2019, she opted to disclose to all of her social media followers how she legally altered her gender to a female.
“I know I am physically human and know how to maintain myself during my serious job hours. But I am spiritually expressing myself as an animal,” she went on to continue.
Recently, Naia startled plenty of people by appearing on the Morning Today show where she says that she’s an online investigator for a non-profit organization but does tend to ‘wolf out’ into the woods so she can connect with her animal psyche.
As bizarre as it sounded to so many, Naia hopes someday people can feel as comfortable as she does when it comes to expressing her thoughts and identity and her spiritual instincts.
