The family and friends of a dedicated charity worker have asked for help in finding the 50-year-old woman who went missing after the Tonga volcano eruption.
Angela Glover, 50, is a generous charity worker who was swept away by a tsunami that hit her home in Veitongo, Tonga, after the once-if-a-lifetime explosion that occurred underwater and triggered a tsunami.
According to the reports, Glover was last seen by her husband who was with her at their coastal home when a 4-foot wave came crashing into their house.
As of this writing, Angela has still not been found. Her concerned family members have since asked people for help in finding the Good Samaritan.
“URGENT! If anyone has Angela’s address please can you DM me or phone me,” Nick Eleini, the woman’s brother, wrote on Facebook.
Following the initial underwater volcano explosion in the area, another “large explosion” took place at the active volcano just hours later at around 9 am on Monday.
Following the second explosion, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre warned: “This might be from another explosion of Tonga volcano. There are no known earthquakes of significant size to generate this wave.”
Meanwhile, Tonga remains cut from the rest of the world with some 80,000 people suspected of being in need of help.
“We suspect there could be up to 80,000 people throughout Tonga affected by either the eruption itself or from the tsunami wave and inundation as a result of the eruption,” Katie Greenwood of the International Federation of Red Cross said.
