A young woman who rose to fame after claiming that she was Madeleine McCann has finally received DNA results.
21-year-old Julia Wendell gained popularity after she created an Instagram account where she claimed that she was the missing British girl.
She wrote that she has specific features that link her to Maddie, such as freckles and eye condition.
Julia has since traveled to the US and submitted DNA samples for three separate forensic tests.
She previously appeared on Dr. Phil where she explained when she ‘started suspecting she was Madeleine.’
During the interview, she discussed her physical likeness to Madeleine and also revealed her mother’s refusal to talk about her childhood.
When asked what her next steps will be after the DNA test results, she boldly replied: “I believe I am Madeleine McCann.”
Only days after her interview, she finally received DNA test results that show she was not the daughter of Kate and Gerry McCann.
But the results found that she was indeed from Poland with some Romanian and Lithuanian heritage, according to Radar Online.
Dr. Fia Johansson, a psychic medium and private investigator who has been helping Julia, said: “She is absolutely 100 percent from Poland.
“She is a small percentage of Lithuanian and Russian but the test results show she is Polish.”
Julia’s parents previously said that she has made false claims and that ‘it is obvious she is not Madeleine.’
The British girl vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal while she was on a vacation with her parents. Despite extensive searches from Portuguese law enforcement, there has been no trace of her whereabouts.
Dr. Johansson told Radar Online: “At least Julia got the investigators to move on the McCann case – she made things happen.”
