Tragic reports have confirmed the death of a 56-year-old woman who passed away on Thursday after falling from a height at the Jewel Changi Airport.
According to reports from local media outlets, the news was confirmed by Singapore’s Civil Defense Forces and Police who are believed to have rushed to the scene after the tragedy broke out. They responded swifty to calls of an emergency at about 1:55 pm at the 78 Airport Boulevard.
The source shared how the woman was unconscious when rushed to the hospital, and that is where she was pronounced dead by doctors.
One eyewitness shared how the incident arose near Level 2, where the witness heard a loud ‘thud’ sound and later saw a body on the ground beside the sitting area. No other injuries to people nearby were reported.
A video was also shared on TikTok where bystanders are seen gathering and mall staff performing CPR on the woman and placing barricades near the site where she fell and was lying.
The management of the airport expressed deep regret over this matter and offered their condolences to the family in this regard. They are also committed to cooperating fully with the investigation taking place at the time to determine how she fell and the possible cause of the fall with the circumstances surrounding it.
