Controversial trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney has just been honored with the famous Woman of the Year award but the news has campaigners furious and upset.

 

The famous TikTok star from the US has plenty of people talking as many others raise eyebrows for her recently bestowed accolade. And that’s because many felt that she had done nothing of the sort to be honored with something so precious and huge. 

Others felt that her only claim to fame was related to gaslighting other women and if that was what the award was being given out for, then she deserved it big time. 

The star is famous for documenting her transition from a male to a female and while some adored her bravery, others didn’t feel too great about the matter. 

They bashed the celeb in London after she got the award and others were quick to slam the organizers and management for feeling it was alright to include her in the nominees, let alone allowing her to win. 

Others called the award an insult to other hardworking and influential females in the industry and just like that, the comments and criticism kept on coming in. 

During her acceptance speech, Mulvaney mentioned how she was getting honored with a gong from a queer publication and how it all means so much to her. Moreover, the star shocked the crowds and added through her social media how proud she felt that others were seeing her talent and acknowledging her journey It has never been easy. 

The mere fact that she came out in the open as a trans just 560 days back was in itself an accomplishment and now this was certainly something worth a mention, she added. 

But some prominent names like Maya Forstater stated how it’s baffling that such an award is being handed out without giving the matter a second thought. She further slammed Mulvaney as a man who opted to put on a dress and come out as a female, after undergoing surgery. And that was not something that anyone needs to be proud of, Forstater added.
