The new royal book is revealing some more bombshell revelations about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex including how they were not happy with Frogmore Cottage.
The pair wished to live in a suite of apartments after arriving at Windsor Castle but what they got instead was Frogmore Cottage and that didn’t seem to please either of them, the book adds.
The Cottage was granted to them by the Queen and that meant they had no choice but to accept it, even if they weren’t happy with it.
The book says the news was broken by Lady Elizabeth Anson who happens to be a close acquaintance of the late Queen and had reportedly passed away in 2020. Moreover, she called it a gift for Harry and Meghan and a very kind gesture. But only if the Duke and Duchess would be more grateful and appreciative of the act, it would have been better.
The couple seemed to have their eyes set on something that was much bigger and grander in scale. Some hints go toward the Queen’s residence in Berkshire but they were just so disappointed.
Both Harry and Meghan were just so disappointed over the ordeal, as confirmed by critics. But they shouldn’t have been. The couple was denied the gesture of living at the Palace and hence were given the cottage. However, seeing them behave in this manner was appalling to many, the book adds.
The extract published in the Mail over the weekend says this Frogmore Cottage was ‘not what they had hoped for.’ It was nothing quite like what they had imagined but it was taken on board with great kindness and generosity.
The cottage was a huge deal because it was outside the palace where the couple should have been living with everyone else.
The Queen made sure they were nearby and the cottage was right where her door for the palace gardens was located. Hence, many felt it was more than a grand offering and they should have been very gracious about it and when they look back at it, they need to respect it, the insider explained.
