There Were ‘No Signs Of Affection’ Between Prince William And Prince Harry During Their Surprise Reunification, Body Language Expert Says

A body language expert who closely watched the reunification of Harry, William, Meghan, and Kate revealed what was going on in the royals’ heads.

On Saturday, for the first time since 2020, the two quarreling princes walked side by side along with their wives to honor the late Queen’s memory and greet the Royal Family’s supporters at Windsor Castle.

While the general public appeared to be appeased by the brothers’ temporary reconciliation, body language expert Judi James suggested the reunion took place more out of necessity than love and caring.

As she told FEMAIL, Harry was extremely anxious while Meghan did her best to comfort him and reassure him she was there for him.

Meanwhile, Prince William put on the form of a leader as he led the Fabulous Four on the walkabout outside Windsor Castle, the late monarch’s residence.

James also said there was a lot of “awkwardness” and “caution” in the air while there was a clear lack of affection.

“This is a phenomenal and unexpected scene that displays some natural caution and awkwardness in the body language, although as a statement of intent it seems choreographed as something of a loving tribute the Queen and in some ways the new King, who took what was maybe the first step in speaking of his love for Harry and Meghan in his recent speech,” James said.

“The four line up together to suggest some form of unity and it is William, with his puffed chest and air of confidence, who looks like the leader and instigator. Harry performs some clothing touch anxiety rituals but Meghan seems to be on hand to offer comfort, support and encouragement.”

The body language expert added that Kate appeared “slightly distanced” from the group at times, whereas both wives flanked their husbands and looked straight ahead when the princes engaged in a short chat.

“When the couple clasp hands it is Harry’s fingers wiggling downward while Meghan’s are curled around his palm, with her thumb gently stroking his hand,” James added.

“She performs touches on his back and small strokes and other tie-signs and there are some moments when she is the one looking across for communication with William and Kate.”

While there is no denying that the reunification was a good first step towards sealing the rift between the Royal Family and the estranged Montecito couple, it was clear that the fab four had little affection for each other during their meeting.

“There’s no signs of relaxed engagement or even affection here but the fact they are lining up together and communicating again is impressive in itself,” James says.

“It’s an adult approach from the new Prince of Wales and it could have broken a lot of ice in terms of their body language at the funeral and beyond.”
