An old clip showing Will Smith desperately trying to avoid his wife’s intrusive questions has resurfaced following the Oscars slapping.
In the wake of the 94th Academy Awards, Will Smith has been facing pressure from all sides after slapping presenter Chris Rock in the face after the latter made a joke about Jada Pinkett’s baldness.
The veteran actor, however, isn’t the only one feeling the heat, whereas people have been quick to condemn his wife who was reportedly spotted laughing after her husband’s on-air assault.
Some viewers have also suggested that Will, who was at first laughing at Rock’s joke, reacted with anger after visibly upset Jada gave him the side-eye.
Suggesting that the King Richard star was trapped in a troubled relationship, viewers have since begun resharing an old clip in which Jada Pinkett is seen asking her husband uncomfortable questions and filming him without his permission.
In the short clip, Jada confronts Will about their marriage ahead of their Red Table Talk appearance.
“You know Esther Perel is coming to the table, she’s gonna be at the Red Table. Would you say she has been instrumental in you and I redefining our relationship?” Jada asks her husband.
After realizing he was being filmed while caught off guard, Will says: “I would say don’t just start filming me without asking me.”
Dismissing his request, Jada points the camera to herself and goes on to say: “Still dealing with foolishness.”
As Will began stumbling over his words, Jada interrupted him and refused to back down saying: “Would you say that she helped us heal the hurts that we caused between one another?”
Responding, the Men in Black star said: “My social media presence is my bread and butter. So you can’t just use me for social media. Don’t just start rolling, I’m standing in my house. Don’t start rolling.”
Concluding the short clip, Jada turned the camera on herself while moving around so that Will was still visible in the background.
“Please watch Esther at the Red Table because she’s helped us a lot. Can’t you tell?” she said.
The 2019 Instagram Live clip has since the Oscars resurfaced on Reddit with people accusing Jada of pushing her husband over the edge.
“He looks tormented. I’ve gone from liking him, to hating him to feeling sorry for him in the space of a week,” someone wrote.
“He looks hella anxious, like he knows Jada is trying to provoke him and he’s afraid of how it will go down,” another said.
One viewer suggested: “He looks broken. I’m back and forth on the slap thing but damn. She ain’t good for him at all”
