Hollywood star Will Smith physically assaulted presenter Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards at Dolby Theatre.
In a shocking turn of events, the Gemini Man star stormed the Oscars stage and slapped the host in the face after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
“You know who’s got the hardest job tonight? Javier Bardem and his wife are both nominated. Now, if she loses, he can’t win. He is praying that Will Smith wins, like, please, lord,” Rock joked.
The presenter went on to make a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith in an apparent jab at her shaved head as he said: “Jada, I love you. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it.”
While Will Smith initially appeared to laugh off the joke, he stormed the stage while Rock was giggling and slapped the presenter in the face.
“Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me,” the shocked host said as Smith walked off the stage.
Responding from his seat, Will Smith yelled: “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!”
After Rock insisted that it was all just “a G.I. Jane joke,” the 53-year-old actor once again yelled: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!”
According to the insiders, Rock later approached Smith and his wife to apologize about making a joke at the expense of Jada Pinkett’s baldness which is caused by alopecia.
The actress previously opened up about her autoimmune disorder in 2018 when she began tackling the challenge publicly and inspired millions of people to follow suit by accepting the condition instead of trying to hide it.
