The wife of a former prime minister of Nepal has been burned to death after rioters trapped her inside her home and set it on fire.
Rajyalaxmi Chatrakar, who was the wife of former PM Jhala Nath Khanal, was rushed to the nearest hospital to get treatment, but was pronounced dead by doctors. This was confirmed by the country’s local media reports have confirmed. The tragic news comes as the country continues to battle with a series of concerns that it’s facing linked to the ban of several social media apps.
This led to widespread anger and protests across the nation, causing dozens of people to die and hundreds to be injured as clashes continued.
The country’s prime minister was forced to resign earlier today in regards to the deadly clashes, as Nepal chose to reverse its decision to continue with the man on those social media applications. This horrifying blaze incident took place when a violent mob was said to have trapped her inside as the government continued with the ban on those social media sites.
Some of the apps that were impacted included the likes of X, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. The country is said to be reeling from an intense political crisis, of which the future remains uncertain.
