The Golden Girls star Betty White passed away on December 31 only six days after she suffered a stroke.
According to reports, she died from a cerebrovascular accident, which is a ‘loss of blood flow to part of the brain, resulting in brain tissue damage.’
The legendary star’s assistant, Kiersten, shared one of her final photos on what would’ve been her 100th birthday.
Kiersten took to Facebook and wrote: “On this special day, I wanted to share this photo of Betty.
“It was taken on 12/20/21. I believe it’s one of the last photos of her. She was radiant and beautiful and as happy as ever.
“Thanks to all of you who are doing kind things today and every day to make the world a better place.”
The iconic actress filmed her last interview for the documentary ‘Betty White: A Celebration’ which feature interviews from a wide range of collaborators including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Clint Eastwood, Craig Ferguson, Morgan Freeman, Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Robert Redford, and Carol Burnett.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, producers Mike Trinklein and Steve Boettcher said that White filmed the interview only 11 days before she passed away.
“Betty shot a tribute to her fans on Dec. 20, which will be in the film,” Boettcher said.
The producer added that it was White’s idea to film the message.
“We’ve been asked to share it. We’ve been asked to put it on social media. The only place we thought was right was putting it in the film and sharing it with her friends, family and fans who are going to be there,” Boettcher added.
