America’s popular amusement park is making heads turn for the wrong reasons again.
Visitors recently suffered from yet another safety scare that comes just weeks after a 9-year-old girl drowned and a boy was filmed wandering on a monorail line high above the crowd.
In the latest incident, visitors to the Pennsylvania attraction were filmed walking alongside the ride. People were asked to evacuate the Comet ride at about 5pm on Sunday.
The popular wooden roller coaster is 75 years old and therefore it makes sense why people might have been concerned. The exit request was due to an off-ride guest issue as confirmed by a spokesperson for the park, located in Hershey. The broadcaster reported more about how they received video footage showing people leaving the vehicle.
Similarly, the clip also showed them walking down the stairs alongside the tracks. In a new statement, the spokesperson explained to the US Sun how there were no mechanical or operational issues whatsoever with Comet, one of their popular rides.
The statement went on to add how it experienced a brief or temporary stoppage that was not linked to the ride itself and that stemmed down from a guest disturbance one the platform itself. But the fact that the temporary stoppage came at a time when there was a series of public incidents at the same location means fear continues to run high.
