Emma Watson has been banned from driving as a result of a 2024 speeding incident.
The famed Harry Potter actress was confirmed as receiving an order that bars her from driving for six months on Wednesday, July 16, which is just a year since a camera caught her going way above the speed limit.
The star is believed to be driving at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone inside Oxford, England, in July of 2024.
As shared in the detailed post on BBC, Watson already had nine points on her driver’s license before the incident, and was ordered to pay a hefty fine of $1396 at the High Wycombe Magistrates Court on Wednesday. The star is believed not to have attended the related hearing, which only lasted five minutes, as confirmed by the BBC.
The actress’s team is yet to speak on her behalf on the matter, and didn’t respond to any requests for comments either. Watson is famous for her role as Hermione Granger in all eight Harry Potter films, starting in 2001 and ending in the year 2011.
She has taken a step back from the spotlight in recent times and even enrolled in a master’s program in creative writing at Oxford University in September of 2024.
