A father has collapsed and passed away after his son’s coffin was being carried into St Bede’s Chapel at Teesside Crematorium.
The incident left relatives to deal with a double tragedy on the day that mourners had gathered to mourn the first, sources have confirmed.
The man was named Nosha White and was 61, hailing from Middlesbrough. He was busy attending the funeral of his 41-year-old son, David Beilicki, when he is believed to have suffered from a serious heart attack, moments before the service began.
Emergency crews were called to the chapel, and Mr. White was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a close family member at his side.
But he just couldn’t be saved in the end. The funeral proceeded after paramedics departed, and later the loved ones were told Mr. White had passed away. The relatives called the matter devastating, tragic, and shocking, adding that this was not something that anyone would be prepared for.
Some of the relatives shared how Mr. White had not been under treatment for any kind of known cardiac condition, and the shock of the incident involving his son’s death might be the reason this arose.
It is believed to have really overwhelmed him as the coffin was brought to the chapel doors. His daughter spoke about the sequence of events around this service, adding how it was so traumatic.
