Good Samaritans did everything to try and rescue Malcolm Jamal Warner after he drowned accidentally, but it was just too late.
The Cosby Show star passed away on Sunday at the age of 54 while he was on vacation in Costa Rica with his loved ones.
As per the police from Costa Rica, Warner was pulled out of the water by people in the area and rushed to the shore. However, despite efforts to save his life, he was just not responsive and was declared lifeless.
The latest details have emerged in this matter about the final moments, with the judicial investigation agency adding more about their efforts. The victim entered the sea and was seen being swept away by a massive current. The man was rescued by bystanders and rushed to the shore, where he got treatment from the Costa Rican Red Cross. However, it was in vain as he was already dead.
The star’s body was rushed to the morgue at San Joaquin de Flores for autopsy, while his cause of death was declared to be asphyxiation by submersion, as shared by the Costa Rican National Police.
Warner played the beloved character Theodore Theo Huxtable, who is the son of Bill Cosby’s Cliff Huxtable, in The Cosby Show from the years 1984 to 1992. This role landed him many prestigious accolades, like an Emmy nomination for the role of outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series.
