President Donald Trump explained on Thursday that he would now nominate outgoing National Security Adviser Mike Waltz for the role of US ambassador to the UN.
From his time in uniform on the battlefield, in Congress, and as national security adviser, Trump says that he feels Waltz would do a great job in the new position as ambassador to the UN.
Waltz shared how he was deeply honored to continue his services for the President and the great American nation through his account on X.
This was just moments after Trump made his announcement. Waltz is a former congressman from Florida who made heads turn after his shaky behavior on creating a Signal group chat where he included a leading journalist from The Atlantic into the group, where war plans were being discussed.
Three sources who were family with the matter mentioned how Waltz, Alex Wong, and one more were expected to leave the Trump administration very soon for their questionable actions.
For now, the White House has refused to comment when they were asked about the expected departures. Unlike the national security adviser role, the high-profile UN ambassador role will require Senate confirmation to proceed further.
