Venus and Serena Williams’ father is sharing his thoughts on the infamous Oscars slap by Will Smith against Chris Rock.

The father of the tennis superstar sister duo says that he did not feel sorry for a second after what Will Smith did on stage in front of millions of viewers.

While the incident might appear to some people as one that took place in the recent past, Richard Williams mentioned during his recent interview that it’s hard to forget.

And he does not like the fact that Chris Rock is looking for sympathy after what he did, simply because Richard feels that he should have never done that in the first place.

“I am 100% on the side of Will Smith. I don’t see anything wrong with his behavior. What he did, he had to do. And I’ve got nothing else to say than that”- he went on to add.

Will Smith portrayed Richard in one of his films that won an Oscar award. This was a biopic called King Richard and he gained a lot of recognition for this.

Even one year after the incident, the fact that this is being discussed is interesting to some critics but Richard Williams says he wants the world to know that he has zero sympathies.

After suffering from a series of health conditions such as a stroke, Richard claims that he has really learned to respect people for their health ailments.

“I think he has done the best thing he needed to do, but I would never be disgusted with Mr. Smith”- he stood up for his wife.

Richard hopes the world can start to forgive Will Smith for this behavior because it’s high time they understood that he did what he needed to do to make his wife feel comfortable.

“It was not something that should have been discussed or joked about”- he adds.
