BREAKING: TikTok Bans Younger Users From Using The App For More Than 60 Minutes

TikTok users are not going to be happy to hear news about the platform barring its younger audiences from using the platform for long periods of time.

The app says it hopes to roll out the feature in a few weeks so until then, those below the age of 18 can use it for long periods of time.

Seeing TikTok set out a screen time limit is definitely an eye-opener to some critics. And while it should be taken positively, a lot of people feel that the decision is being done for other purposes.

And that includes trying to impress regulatory bodies because they feel the platform could be more harmful than helpful.

If you are actually below the age of 18, you are going to see a notification alert pop-up that mentions how the decision is being taken to support the well-being of your health.

The app will also notify the user when the screen time limit is over so that the user can log off easily. It also says that you can end up managing the daily screen time in the tab for Settings and Privacy.

The feature is all set to be launched in the next few weeks. And when the user hits the respective new time limit, they would be required to add a new passcode if they wish to continue using any of the app’s services on that day.

“We hope to keep users in control. This is for their own good”- the company has gone on to add.

When asked about what they felt was the right amount of screentime for any user, especially those below the age of 18, the app says that there is actually no right amount. But the young ones are more likely to be influenced so they want to make sure they’ve kept a check on them with this rollout.
