A son is shocking netizens after claiming he uninvited his mother to his own wedding because she did not like the bride’s gown.
According to him, the bride went berzerk when the mother started to harshly criticize her and that was not something that was going to fade away too easily. So keeping in mind everyone’s best interest, he did what was best.
The devastated mother says this was her only son and hence she did not expect him to behave in this manner. She also adds that a compliment to his wife’s attire shouldn’t be so important that he forgets his own mom.
Now, she’s publicly shaming him and her daughter-in-law for doing what they did- uninviting her to the grand event.
Speaking to users of the online forum Mumsnet, the mother explained how happy she was when her son told her that he had met someone at work.
The duo was soon engaged and if there was one person who just couldn’t control her happiness, it was her. But now, she’s mortified at the way her son behaved on the biggest day of his life.
It was soon revealed how the mother got a tad bit too overexcited with the news of the wedding. She went out and about and purchased a gown for herself that she would wear on the grand event day.
But that is exactly where things began to go wrong. The bride had informed her husband that certain colors were forbidden to be worn by guests.
Those included the likes of white and cream. But although the mom’s dress was purely red with a cream underlay, she was forbidden to wear it.
That just did not make sense to her. She would never make an attempt to overshine her own daughter-in-law but the couple was left with no choice but to ban her from coming in that attire. Hence, she did not go and missed the event.
