Ukraine’s defiant president has once again proved he’s a true patriot by refusing to hide or escape embattled Kyiv amid the Russian invasion.
President Volodymyr Zelensky on several occasions vowed to remain in the capital and continue fighting the invaders even though he is the Russians’ number one target.
Now, the former actor and comedian released another video from within the Presidential Palace to prove to his countrymen and the world that he’s not fleeing the country or hiding in some bunker.
“Our office, Monday evening. We get used to saying that Monday is a tough day. We have a war in the country, so every day is Monday,” Zelensky said in his video as he was strolling through the palace.
“I am staying here in Kyiv, on Bankova street. I am not afraid of anyone. And I will stay as long as it takes to win our patriotic war.”
The empowering speech comes moments after the Ukrainian president condemned the “bastards” who opened fire on Ukrainian civilians who were promised a safe escape.
In his speech earlier on Monday, Zelensky also vowed to hunt down and “punish everyone who committed atrocities in this war.”
“A man, a woman and two children. Right on the road… when they were just trying to get out of town. To escape,” he said while referring to a family of four that was killed while fleeing the embattled town of Irpin.
“The whole family. How many such families have died in Ukraine! We will not forgive. We will not forget.”
Zelensky added: “We will punish everyone who committed atrocities in this war. On our land. We will find every b*stard who shot at our cities, our people. Who bombed our land. Who launched rockets. Who gave the order and gave the green light.
“There will be no quiet place on this Earth for you. Except for the grave.”
