BREAKING: Mega Tsunami Warning Issued After 7.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes


A major tsunami warning has been issued after a giant earthquake struck the east of Japan.

According to local media reports, the huge earthquake started to rock buildings and even cut the power supply to nearly two million homes in the country. And now, there are greater fears for a tsunami, 11 years after a major tidal wave had left 19,000 people dead or even missing in the same location.

There were houses and supermarkets trashed in Tokyo while the entire city is said to be plunged into darkness as the electrical shortage occurred during the later hours of Wednesday.

A local news website revealed how more than 6820 people have been evacuated from their residences in Miyagi due to the natural calamity.

Moreover, reports confirmed how the major earthquake struck at about 11:36 pm local time after striking the coast of the Fukushima region, which is also renowned for being the historic nuclear disaster in the year 2011.

Shortly after that, experts issued warnings for a tsunami as waves of one meter were expected to hit the coasts of the northeastern part of Fukushima as well as the Miyagi regions.

Meanwhile, experts have confirmed that there have been no detected abnormalities in the nuclear power plant in that region.

Reports from local media outlets have confirmed that the government is trying its best to gather more information on the matter as the Prime Minister was seen addressing the nation.

Two million people were said to have plunged into complete darkness in Japan’s capital city of Tokyo while a 20 centimeters high tsunami wave had also been recorded recently.

“Calls have been made to the police and ambulances to be on standby and we are doing our absolute best to take a look at the extent of damage that has reportedly taken place”- stated one spokesman for Japan’s government.
