President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony is now taking place indoors.
The news shocked many people as this would be the first time for such an event to take place in the past 40 years.
While the reason outlined so far was the cold temperatures, critics were quick to troll the new president-elect for ‘chickening out’ and not facing his tears as a security threat looms.
Remember, Trump has been under a serious security threat with two near-death assassination attempts.
The ceremony is expected to take place on January 20 in Washington DC and the Republican party felt it was just too cold to be held outdoors.
Trump shared the news on his social media account where he added that the inauguration address with prayers and other speeches would be delivered in the US Capitol Rotunda under his order. This is in reply to the NWS severe forecast that predicts a high of 23 degrees Fahrenheit.
The last president to carry out his inauguration indoors was James Monroe who was the country’s 5th president in 1821. This happened after weather predictions spoke about a major snowstorm taking place.
Many also shared reports about MAGA conspiracy theories that perhaps he might be weary of and therefore ‘not consider’ risking it.
