Donald Trump has confirmed that he’s not looking for a regime change in Iran.
The news comes just hours after the ceasefire that he reportedly brokered was violated by both Iran and Israel.
The US President mentioned that it was just not worth it and that the entire matter was chaos, slamming both countries for playing with not only the lives of innocent citizens in their nation but those around the world.
Trump admitted that his idea to seek regime change in Iran was just too ambitious, and that nothing good would come out of it. He hoped that everything calmed down as soon as possible while speaking during a press briefing before boarding Air Force One en route to a NATO summit in the Netherlands.
‘Regime change takes chaos, and ideally, we don’t want to see so much chaos. So we will see how all of this goes’- he continued.
Iran retaliated against the US air strikes that took place on its nuclear facilities by striking American bases located in Qatar.
This was the largest military base for the US in the Middle East, causing fear and panic around the globe, with hundreds of flights getting canceled without any certainty of when the situation would return to normal.
However, a few hours after that, Trump shared through his Truth Social account that a ceasefire between both sides had been reached, only for it to collapse a few hours later when Israel struck Iran with missiles.
