Speaking with members of the press on Friday, President Trump just floated the idea that he was going to issue a presidential pardon to disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Combs.
Trump explained how it was not a popularity contest, and he would surely be looking at all the facts before making that decision.
In a federal indictment unsealed on September 17, Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy, RICO, fraud, and coercion. This includes charges linked to transportation and prostitution.
If he is indeed found guilty, he would be facing a minimum period of 15 years in jail or a maximum sentence of life in prison.
He has continued to maintain his innocence throughout the ongoing trial in which witnesses have gone on to testify to allege crimes like r*pe, assault, physical abuse, forced labor, and even drug trafficking.
In reply to a query put out by a Fox News reporter, Peter Doocy, about his past friendship with Diddy and whether he would consider adding a pardon for the former rapper, Trump shared how he would consider that if he felt that star was mistreated.
