President Trump wants the world to know that he’s keen to be the next Pope and also feels that he’d do a great job at it.
The news comes after he was asked by the press who he’d think would be the next best candidate for the future pope. However, his joke didn’t leave too many Catholics happy.
However, Senator Lindsey Graham didn’t mind the idea of Trump stepping in and performing his religious duties and even went as far as to offer him some support for the unlikely and very unofficial candidate to lead the Catholic Church.
The endorsement was full of humor and came a few hours after Trump joked about the matter to reporters. He was located outside the White House and claimed he’d like to be Pope, as that’s his number one choice.
Trump shared the news while departing for Michigan and explained how he was going to mark the 100th day of his second term with a campaign-style rally.
He added that he had no preference for who should or should not lead the church. But he did personally feel that New York’s Cardinal Timothy Dolan was a great and competent man to carry out the role.
