President Trump shared an anecdote about the first night he and First Lady Melania Trump spent inside the White House.
‘To me, there is nothing like the White House. After I won, the first night, I went up and I am there standing inside the residential hallway with Melania, and we are looking into the Lincoln Bedroom’- he shared with attendees during a dinner on Wednesday night for his billionaire supporters.
Trump called it the most surreal experience and said sometimes he cannot believe that he’s in the White House, and that’s the Lincoln bedroom.
He continued to mention that it takes him a long time to realize this and get used to it. “It’s just a special place, and what can I say?”- he added. It was clear that the president was using this high-profile dinner with esteemed guests to rave about the grand renovations of the White House on his watch.
Some of those include a $200 million ballroom that the event’s billionaire attendees were assisting to fund. And his plans to design a triumphal arch across the Lincoln Memorial.
He also shared how he renovated the entire rose garden, paving over the grass and adding more patio furniture, and also including a presidential hall of fame, alongside the west colonnade.
