President Trump has just signed an executive order on Monday to get rid of cashless bail for those arrested in the capital and other cities riddled with crime.
The order challenges a major criminal justice reform effort for the sake of limiting crime around the country, as the president continues using executive power to enact stricter policies in place.
The president signed the order that threatens to withhold federal funding from cities with cashless bail policies and a second order to end cashless bail in DC.
Cashless bail gives suspects the chance to be free from law enforcement custody without any kind of payment, even if arrested for violent crimes. Trump shared how that was the start of when big crime in the country began, and that’s why it’s important to put an end to it. But that’s not all.
According to reports from local media outlets, the President also signed another executive order that criminalized the burning of the American flag.
As per the latest order, anyone who indulges in such practices would be serving a jail sentence of one year. The US President says that such measures are being taken to protect the Constitution and make America great again.
