President Donald Trump continues to raise eyebrows over his use of strong words and that includes the recent debate revolving around birthright citizenship.
America’s head of state had people annoyed and offended when he again brought up the topic of birthright citizenship, adding how it was only supposed to be for the children of slaves and not for immigrants.
Trump shared more on this front during his speech at the CPAC. He says that ending this power was supposed to be done through his executive order but so far, he’s not had a lot of luck on that front.
During his first month of office, he tried to end it but again he faced serious criticism and challenges by the court. Till today, the matter is unresolved.
Trump explained how it was for children of slaves during a period when America was having a tough time. He also suggested how the law on this stance is very outdated and therefore needed to be changed as it was created many years ago. “It’s not for those who escaped their nation or invaded ours”- he shared in the end.
