Donald Trump has proposed a mega $5 million offering in the name of a gold card that will be shared with all wealthy immigrants.

The President of the USA mentioned how it’s a new pathway to get residency. The gold card is designed to attract wealthy foreigners that wish to pay out millions for the right to live in America.

That term is a play on the green card and is more officially known as a permanent residency card, which enables non-citizens to live and work in the US permanently.

Green cards are more frequently awarded to foreigners who marry American citizens or those who receive them through the employer. The latter takes an average of three years for completion as per the Cato Institute.

The news comes as the Trump administration moves to change the nation’s rules for those who can legally live and work and gain citizenship at the same time.

That includes making the restrictions tighter on different kinds of immigration in America and pushing to end birthright citizenship.

America already has decided to open the back door to wealthy non-Americans that want residency through the EB-5 visa.

But this was shared in 1990 and was long said to be abused.
