Justin Trudeau has slammed Donald Trump and vowed to escalate the trade war after Trump imposed new higher taxes on all Canadian products.

Trudeau did share with the world that starting midnight, Canada would fight back against the US and raise taxes on American products to 25%.

The former Canadian PM shared that Trump’s main goal was to try and punish Canada, but they would not sit back and suffer in silence.

He cited the Wall Street Journal and criticized Trump, while calling his decision to raise tariffs ‘dumb’.

‘Donald, they point out that even though you are a smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do!’ He also shared in an angry tone during a press conference today that imports from Canada would be taxed at 25% as Trump’s tariffs would come into play starting today.

The news has sent US shares tumbling and many fear thousands of job losses as a result of this.

Trudeau said that Trump’s trade war is not only with Canada but with Mexico and China. Therefore, they were all doing their parts to fight back. Trudeau also slammed Trump for working positively with Russia while fighting against a friend and ally like Canada. He also slammed Putin as a lying murderous dictator.
